A Thoughtful Approach to Psychotherapy

At Inara Center for Psychotherapy, we provide a grounded and compassionate space for meaningful emotional work. Our clinicians help individuals explore deeper patterns, process difficult experiences, and move toward lasting change.

Our Approach

Our Approach to Therapy

We approach therapy with curiosity, intuition, and deep attunement, creating a collaborative and emotionally safe space. Our style is active and engaged—at times direct and challenging—as we help clients uncover the unconscious conflicts that contribute to emotional pain, recurring patterns, and stagnation while supporting meaningful and lasting change.

We view the body as a wise source of information, often holding emotions and experiences beyond conscious awareness. By incorporating somatic approaches, we attend not only to what is spoken, but also to the nonverbal communication that can deepen insight and healing.

While our work is integrative, it is most influenced by psychoanalytic and attachment-based theory, object relations, neuroscience, somatic psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP).

We believe this work is especially salient in a culture molded by capitalism, colonialism, and patriarchy. By questioning inherited Western paradigms, we support transformation that fosters empathy, authenticity, ancestral reclamation, and interconnectedness.

It is a true privilege to witness our clients reconnect with their authentic selves as they deepen self-understanding and cultivate greater peace, liberation and fulfillment.

Meet the founder

MONA SABA VALERIANO

Licensed Clinical Social Worker #27612

I earned my Master of Social Work from the University of Southern California in 2008 after completing a double major in Psychology and Communication in 2004.

I was drawn to social work because it offered a way of understanding not only the unconscious conflicts that give rise to emotional suffering, but also the profound influence of culture, oppression, war, migration, and historical trauma on our inner lives.

Building on years of community-based work, I established my private practice in 2012 and later founded Inara Center to provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and queer-affirming psychotherapy rooted in compassion, depth, and belonging.

With humility, curiosity, and a deep commitment to lifelong learning, I have pursued advanced training across multiple therapeutic modalities, allowing me to offer current, integrative care grounded in clinical rigor, creativity, and attunement.
