I am a psychodynamic psychotherapist with over 20 years of clinical experience and 13 years of clinical supervisory experience. With advanced training in Psychoanalysis, Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP), Trauma, EMDR, Brainspotting, Eating Disorder Treatment, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for couples, I tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs through an integrative approach that honors the complexity of both mind and body.
As a first-generation Palestinian and Lebanese American, my work is shaped by my lived experience of cultural identity, diaspora, assimilation, grief, and intergenerational trauma. I have particular expertise working with SWANA clients and Third Culture Kids, as well as individuals and couples navigating the relational impact of ADHD, addiction, and codependency. I also have a particular passion for working with adult children of borderline, narcissistic, or alcoholic parents, and parents navigating the emotional complexities of raising children.
My therapeutic style is intuitive, collaborative, and thoughtfully direct when needed. Grounded in the belief that the body often holds what the mind cannot yet fully articulate, I attend closely to the interplay between emotions, bodily sensations, and relational patterns. Together, we bring what has remained unconscious, unspoken, or unresolved into awareness, creating space for deeper insight, lasting healing, and meaningful change.
